Nollywood actor, Freddie Leonard has reacted after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested an internet fraudster using his identity to scam people.
The imposter, identified as Kelvin Aisosa Orhue, was arrested and arraigned before the FCT High Court in Kuje after he duped a lady, Cheryldene Cook, out of N104 million using Freddie's identity.
Orhue, who was arraigned before Justice Nwechonwu, pleaded guilty to the charge and was subsequently convicted and sentenced to one year imprisonment with the option of paying a fine of N1, 000,000 (one million Naira) only.
Reacting to the arrest via his Instagram page, Freddie described women who fall for such scam as desperate.
He wondered how people transfer such a huge amount of money to someone they have never met physically.
